GARNET | symbol of love and devotion

Garnet is the birthstone for the month of January. The name garnet is derived from the word “garanatus” which means “seed like” in Latin. This name has been attributed to the similarity in appearance between garnet crystals and the deep red seeds of a pomegranate. Garnets come in a variety of natural colours that include purple and green but the most common colour is dark red. Garnets are the anniversary gemstone for the second year of marriage and many give the gift of a garnet as a symbol of love and devotion.
